Season start!
We planned to start our season one week earlier at the EDPS event in Emmaboda,
but we could not get all pieces together to make that happen.
Instead we ran our first runs at the Skaraborgs Street Open event.

Besides new ECU, ignition system, pistons and so on, we got a new tow vehicle.
Okay its pretty far from new but it is new to us.
New truck, usually means new problems to solve.

Good: Easy to load/unload, strong and working winch, ok chassies and diesel.
Not so good: Large holes in floor, electrical system and engine.
It took us to the track and back without too much problems so I cant complain,
but the wipers only worked if I simultaniously held the head light knob at light-horn
and the accelerator went below the floor like in the moovie Flyklåpa grand prix.
Just that in this case we slowed down to 70kmh instead of increasing speed. =)

We got a new tent one day before the race, and opened the packaging at the track for the first time.
Amazingly no parts were missing.
Thomas from our garage brought his similar tent so we could build a tent corridor wich was verry handy.
He parked his car outside his tent so we could have our tools and bbq in his part.

At moholmsstrippen they ran index-classes devided in one second intervals,
instead of having a bunch of tricky rules to tell wich cars would race agains wich.
That made all classes containing a large varety of cars running similar times.

Since this was our first race for the season with a brand new engine
we took it easy with the boost in our first runs and planned to increase later on.
However we didnt exactly get the boost we desired. Got 30psi on first and second gear but in third we only got around 22psi.
We checked for leaks, wastegate, blowoff valves etc. but no obvious problems could be found.
We lost our first run in eliminations on sunday with very small margin.

At least nothing broke and apart from lack of boost we were pretty happy with the weekend.
We ran eight rounds and got good feel of the car and track wich is also important.

Below is the weekends fastest slip,
and also a list of all times we ran.

At saturday evening the speaker, Ulf Totte Lindqvist, came by our pit area with presents
containing a localy produced swedish falukorv, a kind of sausage I have eaten every day for several years,
and a sixpack of nearly non alcoholic beer.

The 2,8% beer and the sausage was just what I needed
since I sort of missed out the food and drinking plan.

A local newspaper made a big article from the race.

The magazine Street N Strip did a coverage.

Next event will be at the fast track Kjula raceway next weekend.
We will try to find out how to solve the boost problem.
Stay tuned.
