There were a couple of hectic weeks prior the event.
A new engine were put together. Most of it were repairable exept for the pistons.
Hellmans engine repair welded the head, put in new valve seats and honed the cylinders.
I made tough brackets for the fuel pump and mooved the alternator.

The new engine were fired up at first aruond lunch on friday prior to the event.
Some minor oil leakagess had to be fixed before we could run the engine warm enough
to re tighten the head studs. Then clean and calibrate the cluch and put in the gearbox.
Too bad the gearbox housing had cracked during the 9,71-run last time we used the car
so the housing had to be replaced. With the new housing in place the linkage didnt fit anymore...

After fixing that an extremely short testdrive took place in complete darkness just to check all gears.
Then I took a two hours powernap in my car outside the garage.
04.00 AM we put the racecar onto the truck and left for Sundsvall, some 400km drive.

We arrived to the track around 10-11 AM and built our pit area.
We took a short lunch break before we cycled up the car.
Just as we put the can on its wheels it started to rain.
Luckily it was only a light shower and the track dryed rather quickly,
so we could go ahead with the run.
Since the car had only been cycled up twice after the rebuild we took it really easy in the first run,
wich led to 10,27-226kmh.

The track was not well prepped on purpouse since this event was mainly for street cars,
so I didnt exactly run a new PB in 60ft. Apart from that all fealt well.
A check of the spark plugs told us it was time to clean the injectors.

I thought I saw the fuel pressure gauge act odd during the run, but the AFR seemed like the engine was choking
so we kept all settings the same to see any differences on the spark plugs afterwards.
One of the EGT meters were broken and naturally it was the one on cylinder two.
Just as prior the first run there were some light rain before we ran our second run,
trying to brake in the new engine.

In our second run the engine left the launch controle just as I was to enter stage,
wich lead me to over-stage and get a redlight.
It was the cluch linkage that had gotten worn causing the launch to be disengaged too soon.
I also lost both the alternator- and the fuel-pump belt half way down the track giving us a non analyzable run.

Analyzable or not we ran the third fastest run in the class Extreeme Street/Outlaw in our first run,
giving us a cup to bring home.

In the magazine there were an article covering the event:

Until next race we got to get a new EGT meter, a fuel pressure swich for the ecu
and sort out the belt issue better.

After the race, part of the team went to a camping site.
One guy got busted trying to brake into the sauna by one of the owners of the track...
...he showed us his race cars he had at the camp site instead and woke all neighbors while giving us a taste of the engines. =)

On our way home Sunday afternoon we broke cooling hoses on my LT31 numerous times,
causing the travel home to take eight hours instead of the usual four... =)
