2010-07-24/25, BSO Borlänge Street Open
Now it was time to see werther we got the power desired or not in the Dyno at PBZ!
We started ripping of half a tyre on the transporter on our way to the track.
Took a couple of hours of hard labor to remove the old tyre. The spare were in such poor condition
I didnt dare to drive much faster than 50kmh the remaining 150km to Borlänge.
We didnt get to the track until right before midnight, but no one was let in much earlier due to a late flight.
That caused the crew to aply the first round of trackbite verry late,
so the track never got the treatment it should, even though the crew prepped all night.
Saturdays qualifycations went ok, exept for the fact that we didnt got any traction at all in the start.
We got two qualifying runs. Some teams got three.
The car fealt really good, strong and easy to drive. As a bonus it hardly consumed any fuel. =)
The 60-ft times were not much to tell the world about, but 246kmh in speed shows the engine delivers as it should.
And the engine stayed in one piece too.
All we had to do betwen the runs was to refuel...
...or rather check the fuel level since it hardly consumed any.
Drink some coffie, try to figure out the best way to lower boost in first gear,
or if we should lower launch rev, tyre pressure or wheeliebars...
-Cos we had to do something when running 60-ft times that were doubtable even back in 2002.
The car repetes its runs and acts exacltly the same in both runs,
wich is a good thing. Too bad it acts exactly as bad in both runs.
Atleast the car, engine and drivetrain stayed in one piece so we were rather happy with saturdays two runs.
Instead of repairing the car, we got a new set of tyres for the transporter.
Then we relaxed in the terminal restaurant.
Sunday morning as we woke up there were raining cats and dogs all morning.
At lunch the competition were canceled and we went home.
Even though we didnt run any new records in Borlänge, we went home happy.
Happy over the fact that the engine seemes to deliver alot more power than ever before.
Maby not at peak, but wherever the power is needed we seem to have it.
On top of that all is in one piece and thats not what we are use to.
Next event will be at Mantorp in two weeks.
All previous times I have ran on Mantorp I have had problems with too little power to leave the line well.
Now with an engine as angry as this, we can only hope it will be suficiant to run as fast as we should.
Since this text is written a
fter the Mantorp event has taken place,
I can give you a hint: It was sufficiant. =)
