Bilsport Actionmeet 1-2 august 2008

I couldnt leave work until lunch on friday,
but Fille and Elmer took the Wok to the track in the morning.
The Scruttenering was a complete disaster.
Took half day to get thrue...
....but the weather was fantastic.
When it was time for our first round it had already turned into late afternoon.
With one car left betwen us and the track the staff tryed to begin next class...
...but, hey. get real right?
After Fille and Elmer had talked som sense into the staff we got ok to run.
The burnout went well, but unfortunally I messed up third gears syncro´s at once.
Time was pretty ok anyway:
1,62 in 60ft. 7,1s - 155kmh at 201 meters.
We got back to the pit around 16:00 and began to take down the gearbox.
Elmers girlfriend took my BMW cabrio and went to buy oil.
We were done with the gearbox renovation at 17:30...
...too bad the track closed at 17:00.
We ran thrue all gears in the pit to make sure everything else was fine,
before we lit up the barbaque.
Saturday mornings weather was ok. Far from perfect. pretty cloudy, but still ok.
Track opened at 09:00 but as it was time for us to run they simply skipped our class.
It turned out that the doctor had called in ill, and no replacement doc. had ben contacted...
...and with no doc. in place they wouldnt dare to let any of the faster cars run.
Wise desition, but it would have seemed like a good idea to fix that a bit earlier one can think.
Anyway, it started raining before they ever got a replacement doc.
It didnt rain that verry much, but just enough to close the track around 14:00.
In the magazine a week later No 17-2007 there was a small image of the Wok.
The text pretty much says:
Not even Bjorns smile packed into the worlds fastest Cherry could save the weekend.
Bjorn that is used to all kinds of problems took it with eaze.
That I took it with eaze is refered to that after the race there was a
massive disapointment on various internet forums.
Local farmers/heroes were pissed of because they didnt get to run one single run,
and because it was raining they wanted their money back.
I more or less took the magazines side and explained that
in normal dragracing the starting fee is never ever returned...
...some have more to learn than others.
