So howcome SAnDis got himself a Colt?
The interest of streetracing started as some of his friends took him to the harbour,
where the local streetracers usually hang out.
They usually went there in one of his friends Cherry 1,5GL
so he knew a Cherry was not a verry fast car.
At least thats what he thought until he saw the article in the magazine Bilsport
about the Hot Wok racing at Emmaboda aifield back in 2001.

At first he thought "what idiots are that, racing with a Cherry???"
but as he realized the Cherry were available with turbo, he got interested.
Not knowing what a turbo was he asked for one at the local junkyard, but they had none.
Since the hole turbo-thing seemed a bit complex, he left it without even trying to figure it out.
Instead he bought a couple of Fords (mostly crappy Sierras)
but after a while the urge to find a turbo took him to a couple of different cars.
At first he looked at a couple of Isuzu Piazza Turbos, but they were pretty expensive
and with only 20-30 cars sold in the country the prizings for parts were even more expensive.
Instead he found a couple of Colts...
...or, actually he only found this one,
but it took him many sleepless nights until he actually went ahead and got it.
Once in his possetion, it didnt take long until he started to fiddle with the boost.
From the standard 0,6 bar (8,5 PSI) he rised it to 1,1 bar (15,6 PSI).
That made his car the fastest amongst his friends Audi A3 1,8t and BMW 328.
At least in first and second gear.
He tested 0-100 (0-60) with a borrowed G-Tech but that wasnt a happy story.
He had run on 15,6 PSI for some time, so he had gotten a leak in his exhaust manifold,
and the valves were no longer in exelent condition...
The plan now is to (apart from fixing the most urgent details):
Put on a Ford Cossie intercooler
New Mitsu TD04-15t turbo
Build a scoop for the intake air
Build a 2,5" exhaust system
Sandis hasnt taken it to the strip or the dyno yet,
so no one really knows how good it goes for sure
but it isnt slow. Thats for shure.
