4 july 2009, Säve depå, Gothenburg.

After our problems controlling the combustion with E85, we went back to running VP Racefuel CSP.
We went to Gothenburg with a fresh engine, a tank full of CSP and great hope.

We ran six rounds durign the day and it just went better and better.
12,69-202kmh, 10,85-207kmh, 11,69-217kmh, 11,59-226kmh, 10,26-234kmh och slutligen 16,0-105kmh.

I had picked up the latest fuel map that we ran 9,91 on last time we ran on CSP.
It turned out that map was pretty much useless since the fuel filters were completely full of crap when we ran 9,91, and I had overcompensated for that bigtime...
...so it took us a couple of rounds before we got a reasonable AF ratio and managed to run 10,26.

Right after the first round the Optima battery just died, but we borrowed a friends battery from his car so we could keep on running.
In our last round we lost second gear.
The weather was slightly too hot to be comfortable in the drivers suit, but apart from that everything fealt great.
We ended up in fourth place in the extreme-outlaw class, and one has to be satisfyed with that thinking of that we were only tuning the engine and prepairing ourselfes for the Poland trip.

Andersson had arranged so we could sleep at a shooting range close to the track so near it only took us a couple of minutes to get to the track in the morning.
On sunday morning the trucks electrical system broke down and we couldnt get the alternator to work. A couple of hours trying to fix that resulted in that we removed a couple of relais. Headlights stopped to work, but the alternator startet to work, so we just added a plus cable straight from the battery to the lights and we were off towards Stockholm.
We stopped by for a late brunch at Lobelia Baker who we learnt to know at the Elmia exibition earlier this year.

When we got back to Stockholm we thought we might want to get to the bottom of the alternator trouble. Plugged in all relais and suddenly all was working again just like nothing happened.
Whell, what do they say about Lucas Electrical systems... =)

In two weeks we will go to Poland and race.
See you there.
